Cristiano Ronaldo voted ESPN FC Player of the Month for October

Cristiano Ronaldo, Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette were those in contention, but with 53 percent of the vote, you named Real Madrid forward Ronaldo your ESPN FC Player of the Month for October -- his second such award on the bounce.
Arsenal's spark plug, Sanchez, came in second with 43 percent, while the unsung hero of Ligue 1, Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette, received just four percent.
Whether you agree with Ronaldo's triumph or think someone else should have got the nod, let us know on Facebook and Twitter -- using the hashtag #espnfcplayer -- as well as in the comments section below.

CRISTIANO RONALDO (Real Madrid)
On the back of his astronomical start to the La Liga campaign, Ronaldo was voted the league's player of 2014. His exploits last term will have done little to harm his chances; same for his back-to-back ESPN FC Player of the Month awards. After nine goals and an assist in all competitions in October, it will be hard for Madrid's No. 7 to continue at such pace. However, the Portuguese has already got his November off on the right foot by netting in Los Blancos' 4-0 win over Granada after just two minutes. Can anyone keep Cristiano from claiming the Player of the Month award in November?
"Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has been tweaking his formation, so Ronaldo has less off-the-ball work to do," Dermot Corrigan wrote. "There have been fewer 60-yard sprints from the Portuguese this season, and the results speak for themselves.
"Ronaldo scored in each of the five club games he played during the month, including key goals against Liverpool in the Champions League and Barcelona in el Clasico. The Portugal captain also scored a dramatic injury-time winner in Denmark to get his country's Euro 2016 qualifying campaign back on track. He's been less involved in build-up play, but his goal-scoring figures are better than ever, and particularly well timed as the Ballon d'Or voting season is about to begin."
