The 47 year old beauty queen turned entrepreneur welcomed her twins via a gestational surrogate in the United States of America.

For those who are unfamilar with gestational carriers, the twins are biologically Nike’s children, though they were birthed by an another woman. There is no confirmation on the identity of the twins’ father as Nike and her husband Dr. Tunde Soleye ended their marriage months ago.

Nike has been open about her long-term battle with endometriosis – the gynaecological condition which can cause severe pain and infertility. International celebrities including Giuliana & Bill Rancic, Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban, Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick have all welcomed children via Gestational carriers.

President Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representative Yakubu Dogara, a representative of the Queen of England, the 36 state governors and other top members of the society are expected to attend the coronation & presentation of Staff of Office to the 51st Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

Addressing a pre-coronation briefing at the palace yesterday November 30th, the monarch’s elder brother, Prince Adegboyega, said invites have been sent to state governors, members of the National Assembly and other dignitaries.

“There will be a coronation carnival round the town today. Tomorrow, there will be artistes’ coronation day. On Thursday, there will be traditional worshippers’ day.

A Jumat service will hold on Friday. Also on that day, there will be a youth carnival and fashion parade. A football match between Ajiroba FC and Shooting Stars of Ibadan is scheduled for Saturday. On Sunday, there will be an interdenominational service at Enuwa Square and inauguration of Ife Resorts. The grand finale is on Monday with the presentation of staff of office.

The programme will be rounded off on December 13 with a thanksgiving service at St. Saviour Anglican Church, Ayegbaju, Ile-Ife.”

The Chairman, Publicity Committee, Biyi Odunlade, said December 7th which is the day of the Installation has been declared a public holiday to allow residents participate in the ceremony.

The highly anticipated 'Prince Hezekiah Funny King' event, organized by Grafton Entertainment and 001 Ent. finally took place on Sunday, September 13 at Aztech Arcum in Port-Harcourt. The well attended event attracted over 2,000 fun lovers from various parts of the Niger-Delta region.

It marked Grafton Entertainment's 10th year in showbiz, both in Nigeria and the UK and was also the maiden edition of the 'Funny King' brand spearheaded by comedian, Prince Hezekiah. Bomb scare reported at Buhari's campaign rally in Sokoto

The venue of APC presidential campaign rally in Sokoto state has been changed following a reported bomb scare. According to The Cable, the party had earmarked the Sokoto state stadium for its rally but changed it this morning to the Sokoto Trade Fair complex after a man on a motorcycle was arrested with two bombs on him.

We will not hesitate forming a parallel govt, if the 2015 elections are rigged - APC

In its new year message to Nigerians, the APC said that it would not hesitate to form a parallel government if the general elections holding in February is rigged. The party however that it would congratulate President Jonathan if the elections are free and fair.

“As a party, we assure you that we will congratulate president Goodluck Jonathan and his party, PDP if our presidential candidate and party are defeated in free and fair elections, and we will not go to court. However, as a party, we wish to reiterate, that we will not hesitate forming a parallel government, if the 2015 election are rigged either by the use of security agencies (police or military) to harass, intimidate and cajole voters or through the use of a compromise Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).” APC said in a statement signed by it's chairman, John Oyegun

Governor Okorocha provides free trip from Lagos/oyo to Imo state

According to Mr. Alfred Ononugbo, The Imo State Liaison Officer in Lagos, Governor Rochas Okorocha has provided buses that will convey them free of charge to Owerri, the state capital on Wednesday, December 24^th 2014.
Ononugbo advises all Imo Indigenes in Lagos to meet and assemble at National Stadium Surulere, Lagos by 8am while in Oyo State should meet at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church, Mokola Ibadan same time for the journey.

Labour Party Renounces EX-Oyo Gov. Alao Akala

Labour Party (LP) has renounced former Oyo State Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, Great Ogboru, and Tonye Princewill.

The party stated reasons that they are not the governorship candidates representing Oyo, Delta and Rivers states and are yet to field any candidate for next year’s general elections, thereby warning those parading themselves as the party’s flagbearer to stop. 

The National Caretaker Committee put in place by the organised labour – the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) – said at a news conference at the NLC secretariat in Abuja that the three men were not known as the party’s members. The LP is fictionalised with organised labour, which claimed to have registered the party, setting up a committee to conduct fresh elections after dissociating itself from the national convention held in Akure.

The committee’s chairman, Salisu Muhammed, said the party’s former national chairman, Dan Nwanyanwu and his ex-scribe were only using the three men to enrich themselves. Mohammed said those claiming to have purchased nomination forms did that fraudulently and therefore, could not represent the party.

He said: “Of recent, the media has been awashed with purported entry of Alao-Akala into our party to contest for governorship election in Oyo State. “He is said to have been given ticket by Salam and Mr. Dan Nwanyanwu – former National Secretary and National Chairman. “This situation also goes to Chief Princewill Tonye of Rivers State, Chief Great Ogboru of Delta State, as well as some followers of Governor Elechi of Ebonyi State. 

They are now the latest victims of political buccaneers. In one word, we honestly counsel you all: don’t jump from frying pan to fire.” Mohammed said the party was taking legal action against Nwanyanwu to retrieve its Certificate of Registration and other party’s property that were still in his possession. He said Nwanyanwu was earlier given a three-day demand notice on the issue, which had since elapsed, lamenting that he had chosen the path of dishonour.

Swimmer Phelps pleads guilty to drunken driving charge

According to new reports, Olympic gold medal swimmer Michael Phelps has pleaded guilty to drunken driving almost three months after he was arrested.
The 18 time gold medalist entered his plea to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol on Friday morning. He was sentenced to a year in prison, but the prison sentence is suspended. He will be on probation for a year and a half.
A week after his arrest, USA Swimming suspended Phelps for six months.
Phelps entered a six-week treatment program in October. This is his second DUI conviction. Phelps pleaded guilty to drunken driving in 2004 in another Maryland county.
Phelps recently took to twitter to thank fans for their on-going support. In his words
“The past three months of my life have been some of the hardest times I’ve ever gone through, and the biggest learning experience that I have.”
